QUEENSHIP OF MARY
25th
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
In Him you are built together.

Banner/Flag
Contest
|
|
Together we show our unity in Christ through outward signs.
In spring 2006, we held a contest to determine how we would
illustrate our anniversary theme: “In
Him you are built together.”

|
Strangers no longer we began our commemoration in October 2006
with a recreation of the walk from Community Middle School to our present church site where we celebrated with a prayer service and
refreshments.

Parish
Photo Book
|

|
Special family events often generate a family photo album, to
show that we are members of the household of God we compiled a parish family photo book of parishioners and
their families.

HABITAT
FOR HUMANITY
God
has built us together as a parish family and continues to work in and
through us. Our parish
community, with God and Habitat for Humanity, ‘sponsored’ a house
for a family in need. Through our sponsorship we provided financial
support, leadership of the project and volunteers to build the house
provide other support to the project. Planning began in spring 2006,
building began in spring 2007, and the new homeowners moved in September
2, 2007.

MARY'S
GARDEN
With Mary as our inspiration we recognize our dependence on
God’s presence and action in our lives and created a prayer garden
around our outdoor image of the Blessed Mother.
This enhances the beauty of our “house” and provides a place
for prayer and reflection. Parishioners
have memorialize paving stones in their name or the name of a loved one;
there will be opportunities periodically to memorialize family and other
events.

Children’s Festival
|
|
Celebrating
an anniversary is incomplete if we look only to the past; we build our
future on the past and want our children to recognize that their faith
is built upon the foundation of those who came before them.
Thus in conjunction with our annual parish picnic in September
2007 we had activities to assist our children in celebrating our life as
a parish family and to help them to reflect on the importance of church
in their lives.

Commemorative
Christmas Ornament
Our
faith is founded in Jesus Christ who dwelt among us as man. the
development of a 25th anniversary commemorative Christmas ornament
reminded us that Jesus us the cornerstone of our church, our parish and
our lives.

25th
ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
As
the pinnacle of parish life, a Mass celebrated by our Bishop, Paul G.
Bootkoski, officially marked our 25th Anniversary in October 2007 and
began the next 25 years as a Christ-centered community. The
liturgical celebration was followed by a dinner dance attended by about
300 parishioners.

So then you
are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with
the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the
foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the
capstone. Through him the
whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the
Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of
God in the Spirit. (Ephesians
2:19-22)
