June 17, 2008
Dear Eucharistic Minister,
With this letter, I have enclosed the July 2008 Eucharistic Minister
schedule. Because several Eucharistic Ministers are unavailable during
the summer months, you may find yourself scheduled more than once.
Please check the schedule carefully.
I continue to ask all Eucharistic Ministers to arrive at least 15
minutes before Mass begins and to welcome people as they enter the
church. If you are unable to attend a Mass for which you are scheduled,
please arrange for a substitute. This is especially important if you are
scheduled to bring communion to the Elms. When attending a Mass for
which you are not scheduled, it is always a nice gesture to check and
see if any help is needed before Mass begins.
Two of our Eucharistic Ministers, Dori and Frank Batavick, are moving
out of the parish. I want to take this opportunity to thank them for
their service to this ministry, and to wish them well in their new
parish.
As we approach the warmer summer months, it is still important for
all Eucharistic Ministers to think about appropriate dress when
distributing at Mass. Fr. Bob would appreciate Eucharistic Ministers to
remember: no flip flops, no sneakers, no shorts, and no jeans. While it
is true that some of this may be a little “looser” when individuals
are filling in, there still needs to be some modesty and respect
attached to dress; there may be times when there are too few Eucharistic
Ministers that the way someone is dressed may not be appropriate for
service that day. (If in doubt, check with Fr. Bob before Mass.)
I want to thank those of you who sent me your July preferences. If
you have not already done so, please send me your August preferences as
soon as you can.
As always, I want to thank all of you for your dedication to this
ministry and to the parish. If you have any questions or experience any
problems, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours in Christ,
Tony Kosar
