Bible Study PDF Print

The Great Adventure Study series is basic enough to suit those who haven’t studied the Bible before while at the same time offering ways to go deeper that will challenge the Bible study veteran.

Tuesdays 12:30-2:30 PM or Wednesdays 7:30-9:30 PM

In The Bible Timeline, salvation history is covered from its beginning in Genesis through the coming of Christ and the establishment of the Catholic Church. You will study key Old Testament passages in light of their fulfillment in Christ. You will also gain a greater appreciation for and understanding of the Scripture readings you hear in Mass. It’s a great way to encourage and be encouraged in learning how God’s Word applies to your life. General principles for reading the Bible are taught and participants are encouraged to continue on the life-long “great adventure” of learning to know God through Scripture. And if that all isn’t enough, it will help you lay a strong foundation for further Bible reading, meditation and study.

Tuesdays 9:30-11:30 AM

Adventures in Revelation: the Kingdom Yet to Come takes a truly catholic approach to understanding this many-faceted book. Looking at it in the context of the sweep of salvation history, this study shows how the Revelation to John first presents an “unveiling” of the Divine Bridegroom, Jesus Christ, and then lifts the veil of his Bride to reveal the nature and beauty of the Church. In the process, the study looks at Revelation as a book of liturgy, as a handbook of discipleship, and as a revelation of the final Exodus of the people of God. Particular care is taken to explain the system of symbolic language that permeates the book.

Tuesdays 9:30-11:30 AM

Adventures in Matthew shows how Jesus built on the foundation laid in the Old Testament to inaugurate the kingdom of heaven on earth. Matthew’s gospel was written to Jews who knew the Old Testament well. Countless references tie the reader back into the Story and show Jesus to be the fulfillment of all that the Hebrew Scriptures pointed to. For this reason, it is an ideal follow-up study to the basic narrative of Scripture taught in The Bible Timeline.

 Revelation Live!

Wednesdays 7:30-9:00 PM

In Revelation Live! Winnie Klimek unpacks the myths about Revelation, the end times and much more. We are excited to be able to offer this study in addition to the video studies offered during the day on Tuesdays. In this 8 week study Winnie will use lecture and discussion to explore teh symbolism found in the book of Reelation as wellas universal salvation, the Eucharist, good versus evil and more.

Here’s what our past participants said to encourage others:

Register! Register! It is a wonderful opportunity to learn about the Scriptures and all the players who partook in its history. (Alan)

Do not hesitate—you will not be disappointed. Do not be concerned about the “homework” or the time requirements. It is all worth it. (Karen)

When asked what they gained from the study they said:I discovered that the Bible is not the mysterious book that I thought it was. I have gained confidence in reading the bible and find it exciting rather than dull and confusing. (Elaine)

Deeper understanding of the life and teachings of Christ; Insight and meaning of continuing challenges to serve others (Kevin)

I gained a great deal of insight into the rituals of the Mass, the life of Jesus and my own life. (Kim)

While it may sound like a lot of money, there are several points to consider. It’s a 24 week program—that averages out to about $1.50 a week. For less than the cost of a cup of coffee at Dunkin Donuts or It’s a Grind, you are participating in the number one Bible study in the nation. Look over the rest of the information on this page to find some of the many benefits! *The DVDs, because they are worthwhile, are expensive; the fee collected from everyone will most likely not cover the full cost of the DVDs but every little bit helps.
