“Let each one give according as he has determined in his heart, not grudgingly or from compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.”
As of June 2005, Queenship of Mary became a tithing parish. This biblical notion was embraced as a means to meet both our spiritual and financial needs. The true purpose of tithing is to secure not the tithe, but the tither; not the gift, but the giver; not your money, but you…for God. Tithing means one collection for the parish at Mass, with the true spirit of offering oneself with the offering of Christ. For the individual, it tells us what God expects. Most important, is always the spiritual benefits that come to the tither and the parish community. Tithing establishes a proper sense of values. It helps us remember that God comes before all else and that everything we have comes from Him. |
