The Council for Financial Affairs (CFA) Canon law requires each parish to have a Council for Financial Affairs. This council provides financial and operational support to the Pastor by assisting him in the development and management of the parish's financial resources so that the parish may more effectively pursue its mission of spreading Christ's gospel and love. The council meets monthly to review parish finances, and to advise the pastor on the proper management of contributions. Our fiscal year is July 1-June 30th, at the end of each fiscal year a financial report is filed with the Diocese of Metuchen. A summary of this report is shared with parishioners each fall. The CFA has decided to offer the option of electronic giving through Faith Direct, a highly respected and secure company that is leading the way for parishioners to financially support their parishes electronically. The Faith Direct program gives you a convenient way to tithe to Queenship of Mary by electing to use direct debit like most of us do for other payments or charitable giving. It also gives you the opportunity to support our parish even if you are absent from Mass due to travel or illness. And, it addresses the situation many families face on their way to Mass: Where did I put my envelopes?! With Faith Direct (parish code NJ88) our parish will gain predictable cash flow that will help us with planning our parish needs and programs. As Christian stewards, it will give you the opportunity to better plan your finances when supporting our church. If you have any questions, or would like to assist in the mission of this council, you may contact the chairperson, Leyla Howarth: 609-240-1138. |
