Our first delegation was in Guatemala from June 3rd through June 10th , 2008. The purpose of the delegation was to establish our relationship and get a general understanding of the Diocese of Santa Rosa. The delegation focused its attention and observation of five primary areas, Agriculture, Infrastructure, Education, Health, and Faith. The delegation visited the headquarters of Catholic Relief Services (CRS), many aldeas (villages) that were served by the Santa Cruz parish and the Bishop of Santa Rosa. A broad understanding of the issues facing Guatemala was gained. Following its return the delegation worked to provide our parish an understanding of what was learned and also built the proposal that was eventually accepted and that will define our future work together.
