In 2006, Queenship of Mary was offered a grant to begin what has become our commitment to serve only fairly traded coffee and tea at all of our social gatherings and meetings; and we meet and socialize a lot! We made the decision to use our purchasing power to say that we care about the lives of the people who produce the products we buy. This commitment has enabled us to live out our principles of social justice in a most basic way, and to teach our children a practical, contemporary means of incorporating Catholic principles into all the decisions they make.

Additionally, we sell products such as coffee, tea and chocolate, at wholesale prices, for use in homes throughout our parish community. We offer this service as a means to raise awareness about the availability of these products and the efficacy of alternative economic choices. Our coffee project has been featured in The Catholic Spirit and more recently in St. Anthony's Messenger Press.
