if you have a lot of time to offer – we need you!
Time-Talent-Treasure January of 2012 marks the end of our second year as a St. Vincent de Paul Conference. We’ve provided help to more than 120 clients during these past two years. Through the generosity of our parish combined with monetary help from Catholic Charities, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, and numerous donors we’ve been able to distribute more than $50,000 in financial aid to the needy of our community. Just as importantly the gentle and loving spirit of our members has brought a sense of caring and support to the people who needed our help. During 2011 we began sharing our time and talent outside of the parish by sending volunteers to work at the Perth Amboy food pantry on the first Saturday of each month. Through this effort we are able to provide our members with an additional opportunity to assist the needy. If you think you’d like to help, come to one of our meetings and see for yourself what this ministry is all about. Our general meetings are held monthly and, at our gatherings, we strive to establish the spirit of friendship, simplicity and joy that are the hallmark of a Vincentian organization. If you wish to help us financially, donations to the Queenship of Mary St. Vincent de Paul Conference can be placed in the weekly collection basket or sent to the parish office. Need Help? If you are in need of help from our Conference, please call 609-799-1428, ext. 303. This is a phone line where you can leave your name and a contact phone number. Generally, we make our initial contact back to you within 24 hours. You don’t need to be a parishioner, you don’t need to be Catholic, you just need to be a person in our community who needs help. |
