While embracing and accepting the Word of God ourselves, lectors seek to awaken and enhance in our fellow parishioners a greater knowledge of God and our Catholic faith through our proclamation of the Scriptures.   

It is important that through prayer lectors seek God's help to understand the scripture and make it meaningful to the community.  A lector must have the talent and call to proclaim the Word of God to the community.  Each will be trained and provided with a Lectors' Workbook with information on context, pronunciation, etc. of the readings.  Lectors are responsible to serve when scheduled which is about once every 4 to 6 weeks.
